Naomi Lucille Kagaya is a Digital Arts and New Media graduate student at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is pursuing an MFA degree and is planning on graduating in the spring of 2008.

Naomi was born in Gojome, Japan and spent more than 10 years of her life there, prior to attending the University of Michigan, for her undergraduate studies. She received a BFA in Performing Arts Technology, with a concentration in Media and Sonic Arts. Her current artistic interests are to integrate both sonic and visual elements into installations and live performances.

Her current project in progress, "Furusato" is an algorithmically generated installation based on the Japanese concept of Furusato and personal origins. "Furusato" will be presented at the UCSC Music Center on June 6th and 7th, 2008. Click here for more information.
